Kitchen Renovations Before Selling

Melbourne's renovate-to-sell experts

Not all kitchen renovations add value when selling. We focus only on updates that maximise buyer appeal and sale price.

As Melbourne’s Renovate To Sell experts, we help you avoid overcapitalising by focusing on the kitchen updates that matter most to buyers – layout, finishes, and overall presentation.

From smart refreshes to full upgrades, every decision is guided by what will make your home more desirable, helping it sell faster and for a stronger price, as proven in our case studies.

kitchen renovation FAQ's

Timelines vary depending on the scope and finishes, but here’s a general guide once on-site works begin:
  • Basic Kitchen (e.g. Melamine cabinets, laminate benchtop, tiled splashback): 2–3 weeks
  • Mid-Range Kitchen (e.g. Featured melamine cabinets, stone benchtop, tiled splashback): 3–4 weeks
  • Custom Kitchen (e.g. 2-pack profile cabinetry, stone benchtop, glass splashback): 4–6 weeks

No, your kitchen will be out of action during for the duration of the renovation. A microwave and prepared meals always go a long way during a kitchen renovation!

Yes, our talented design team helps plan the layout, select materials, and guide you on finishes and appliances. We also offer 3D visuals so you can preview your new kitchen before work begins. Our goal is to design a space that fits your style, lifestyle, wants and needs.

Absolutely. If you want to keep the current layout, we can refresh your kitchen with new cabinetry doors and panels, benchtops, splashbacks, and finishes it’s often at a lower cost and with less disruption than a full redesign.

Yes. You’re welcome to purchase your own appliances, fittings, and finishes. We’ll provide a checklist and schedule so you know what’s needed and when. We’re also happy to recommend trusted suppliers if you’d like help choosing.

That’s where smart design comes in. We specialise in making the most of smaller or awkward spaces with clever storage, improved flow, and functional upgrades that make your kitchen feel bigger and work better, and -of course – look amazing.

No. But just keep in mind that your kitchen won’t be usable, and the kitchen area would not be accessible. Most people who get a kitchen renovation will say they wish they moved out during the reno, as it can be alot, but realistically, most of us don’t have another dwelling to wait it out in. Some people love not having to cook and enjoy the reason not to! If the kitchen is your only cooking area, we recommend planning meals ahead for microwaving while the space is offline. If you can afford it, having a food takeaway budget is ideal. Having somewhere to wash dishes and make a cup of coffee is nice, so you might convert your laundry into a kitchenette of sorts during the process.

Whilst this is an exciting time –  and the result is always worth it – just keep in mind that it is a renovation. And it’s not The Block (insert face palm!) so kitchens don’t magically happen in a week. But we the best at always coordinating the project to minimise disruption and keep things moving efficiently.
