For a small home, this kitchen is packed with more than you can imagine but remains spacious.
This kitchen needed some serious love after almost falling apart! It was of utmost importance to design a kitchen that stood the test of time, because another renovation is never guaranteed! Therefore, the checklist for this kitchen covered just about everything you could imagine in a luxury kitchen — and then more! In a home with limited space and an original kitchen that barely held the basics in it’s original kitchen, our clever design team worked their magic to create a space that was not only functional but goes above and beyond in aesthetic as well!
Works Undertaken: Renovation + Bespoke Design

THE BRIEF
THE BRIEF
A kitchen fit for a chef, with all the works.
The list of requirements for this kitchen was the stuff of dreams. It was a kitchen that had to be designed to last a lifetime, with easy to change parts if required, because affording another renovating again is never guaranteed. The list included, but was not limited to:
shaker style doors with a unique shade of white from Benjamin Moore, that changes color to a stunning creamy cream depending on the light at the time . a dog feeding station with two bowls & pot filler & dog food drawer . wall mounted faucet and tapware . wall mounted hand soap and moisturizer . in-bench dish soap dispenser . insinkerator . drawers under sink – not cupboards . lowest possible kickboards to minimise loss of cabinet storage area & maximise aesthetic appeal . trim at top and bottom of cabinetry . cabinet lighting . handles & knobs imported from the UK . use pre-purchased freestanding Falcon oven/stove . pot filler for stove . unique corner bench – not typical square corner – for extra space and aesthetic appeal . ledge along rear of benchtop for condiments and easy-to-reach everyday cooking items . integrated dishwasher . integrated side by side column freezer & fridge . 12mm porcelain stone and bench . rounded corners on benchtops . rounded corners on all exposed cabinetry ends . not more than 3mm overhang for benchtops . porcelain splash back . sliding Hafele vegetable baskets in cupboard . spice drawer . internal drawers within drawers . concealed silent rangehood . pull-out sauce rack next to oven . overhead cupboards with built-in feature (cornices built around cabinetry – no bulkheads) . ZETR power outlets on walls and island bench . microwave cabinet with fascia front for built-in effect and easy replacement of microwave . a larger, more open space for entertaining . large arch entry with custom architrave from hall to living/kitchen space.
By removing the wall between the lounge and kitchen, we opened up the space to convert it into a welcoming, bright space. The ceiling fan was chosen to complement the natural tones in the space, and for the final touch, we designed a clever divider that subtly yet stunningly divides the dining and the lounge. There is so much to say about this kitchen but we only have so much space, so we’ll let you judge for yourself, although pictures simply don’t do it justice!

THE OUTCOME
“I am fortunate enough to know the quality of Kudo Homes firsthand, so there was no other option for my dream kitchen. Dennis is the fussiest person I know, so I knew it would come out exactly as I wanted. I spent years – and I mean years – searching for the perfect kitchen and couldn’t find it – until now. I made a list of all the things I wanted but honestly didn’t think would fit in such a small space, but everything did! And it’s not even crammed….it’s so spacious, and i have EXTRA room for things I would never have been able to buy before because there was nowhere to store them. And the corner bench area that I wanted so badly but had never seen in real life before was a gamble, but OH MY GOSH, it is so perfect and adds soooo much more bench space!! It’s crazy how perfect this kitchen is. It’s absolutely gorgeous and it’s ours!!”.
